The new Smashing Pumpkins track rocks!
On May 18th, Spinner posted a track from the Smashing Pumpkins upcoming new album, “Zeitgeist”. The track is called Tarantula, and I absolutely love it! It sounds like it’s mixed a little weird, but even if that’s exactly how it sounds on the album, I’ll be happy. If this is any indication of how the new album will sound as a whole, then I am amazed that SP could capture the feeling and the magic of their previous hit albums. I’ve listened to this track five times so far writing this. I must say I am blown away. I can’t say enough good things about it.
To top everything else off Shepard Fairey of OBEY fame did the artwork for the front cover, as if there weren’t already enough reasons to love this album. I cannot wait until more music gets released from “Zeitgeist”, and when the whole album comes out, I’m actually going to go to the store and buy the CD! Usually I just download tracks DRM free from AllofMp3.com, but I’ll actually make an effort for the Pumpkins since they are my all time favorite band, and they actually make good music.
Enjoy the track, and let me know what you think.

kinda hoped the new SP would be decent, and it was, but that’s all it was.
it sounded very much like this poseur band from la i heard a few weeks ago - bang the shit out of stuff and jump around a lot and everyone will think you’re like really really serious.
i’m still a massive fan of the old SP, and who knows, it was just one track…
