Hello.
Well, I wish I had something really exciting to say about me, but the truth is, I live a bit of a boring life at the moment (not that I’m complaining), and for the many previous moments before this one. I’m hoping to change all that very soon though.
Follow along, and for the next few paragraphs, I’ll take you on a magical journey into the bowels of my life.
Begin Magical Journey
Cool, you’re still here! Okay. I live in Los Angeles, California. I moved here in 2003 from Florida. That’s where I was born, grew up and met my wife, Amanda. At the time we moved, Amanda was my girlfriend. We packed up my Saturn (R.I.P.) and drove all the way across the country. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.
On October 14th, 2007, Amanda and I finally tied the knot. We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. It could not have been better. Everything was beautiful.
Since being in LA I have worked at numerous office jobs. I’ve worked in insurance, customer service, tech support and even sales (for about 4 hours). Right now I work in the heart of Downtown LA. I’ve been at this job for almost two years now, and it’s great, but it isn’t what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Since I was about two years old, I’ve been drawing and interested in various creative fields. I always thought I should do something with that, you know, as in get a job in the arts, but because I’ve never really had a lot of motivation, I’ve just pissed away my talent all these years. Not that I’m a great artist or anything, but I can draw better than a lot of people who make art for a living. The bright side of this little story is that Amanda came up with a plan to get me into an art/graphic design school and stop wasting my life. She’s pretty awesome. So as it stands right now, I will be enrolling in a graphic design course as of January 2009. I’m very excited about this, and I really have high hopes that I’ll be able to make a nice living for me and my family someday soon.
Whatever happens, I’m just glad that I’m finally getting serious about life, and that I’m excited about the future. I know something bad could happen and ruin all my plans, but until that happens, I’m going to hope for the best.
About My Site
Before I had a computer, I had a Sega Dreamcast. I connected it to the internet, and bought a keyboard for it, and that, my friends, is where I taught myself HTML.
On a Dreamcast. On dial-up. That’s hardcore.
Anyhoo, since I made my first (ugly) website on Angelfire (blecchh), I’ve really enjoyed learning more and more about design. I’ve always thought the concept of having your own web page(s) where you can share your thoughts, ideas, pictures, ramblings, etc., with anyone in the world was mind-blowing.
This is my latest attempt at a blog. I got bored with blogging all the other times, and just kinda stopped, but this time, I feel it may be different, although I’ve said that before. We shall see.
This design was inspired mostly by two artists: Scott Hansen and James White. I was inspired by the warm, retro, 1970’s colors that their works have, and I stole that idea for my site’s colors. This blog is not based on a template, I completely hand coded every aspect of it from scratch.
The tagline to my blog, “A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist” was taken from the 80’s TV show, “Knight Rider” starring David Hasselhoff. I think it sounds cool, obviously.
The back-end of this site is running on WordPress, which is the best blogging engine in the world. On top of that, they are giving it away for free. WordPress has been great to work with, I can’t imagine using anything else. Yay, WordPress!
Goodbye.
Was it as magical for you as it was for me? I hope so. Well, I hope you enjoy my blog, and visit often. On the sidebar to the right (you can’t miss it) you’ll find numerous ways to follow and stalk me. Feel free to add me as a friend or contact on any of the social networking sites I’m on, and I’ll add you, too. I love meeting new people on the web. Goodbye for now, my friends.
